![]() This time, I spent the day using Internet Explorer 8, which was released ten years ago today, on March 19th, 2009. Last time, I navigated the web for a day using a screen reader. I hope to raise the profile of difficulties faced by real people, which are avoidable if we design and develop in a way that is sympathetic to their needs. This article is part of a series in which I attempt to use the web under various constraints, representing a given demographic of user. Chris Ashton tries it out against the modern web, and considers how we can build our sites to last.
